3daysofdesign Copenhagen 2026 — 5 Clients, 3 Days, Same-Day Delivery

Key Takeaways · Read time: 7–8 minutes

  1. 5 ALIVE MEDIA covered five separate clients across 3daysofdesign Copenhagen 2026 — four days, multiple venues, simultaneous productions
  2. Same-day reel edits delivered every morning before the next exhibition day began — vertical and horizontal formats
  3. Real-time Instagram Stories delivered directly to Vibia’s social team via Google Drive throughout each day
  4. Clients included Vibia, Gessi, ITC (United Nations), KOPAN and Louis Vuitton — spanning luxury, design and international organisations
  5. The “Stories Behind” designer interview series was produced as a standalone content series for Vibia alongside daily festival coverage
  6. Productions ran across six distinct Copenhagen venues simultaneously — requiring precise crew scheduling and same-day delivery logistics
Design week in Copenhagen is unlike any other production week we run. Five clients. Six venues. Four consecutive days. Simultaneous productions happening across the city – from Helligaandshuset in the old town to Bredgade, Christianshavn and Kongensgade — all requiring same-day delivery while the festival was still running.3daysofdesign 2026 was our most complex multi-client production to date. This is the full account of how we planned it, who we worked for and what we delivered.

The production challenge — five clients, one week

Most production weeks involve one client, one brief and one delivery timeline. 3daysofdesign is the opposite. Five separate clients. Five separate briefs. Five separate aesthetic requirements. And all of it running simultaneously across a city that transforms into a design destination for four days every June.

The logistics required more precision than any single large-scale production. Crew scheduling had to account for which venues needed coverage at the same time, which clients needed same-day deliverables and which productions could be sequenced. The brief for each client was completely different — documentary-lifestyle for Gessi, architectural and considered for KOPAN, real-time social content for Vibia, exhibition storytelling for ITC and brand activation coverage for Louis Vuitton.

What made it work was pre-production. Every brief was confirmed before the festival opened. Every shoot schedule was mapped against every other shoot schedule. Every delivery timeline was agreed in advance so the editing workflow could be planned before a single frame was captured.

Vibia — Four days at Helligaandshuset

Venue: Helligaandshuset, Valkendorfsgade 23, Copenhagen
Duration: 4 days — June 9–12

Vibia was our anchor client across the full festival — a four-day production covering the Spanish lighting brand’s three-room exhibition space at one of Copenhagen’s most architecturally distinctive venues. Helligaandshuset, a 15th-century church complex in the heart of the old city, provided a visually extraordinary backdrop for a lighting brand whose product is literally the relationship between design and light.

The brief required us to cover four formats simultaneously across the four days:

  • Real-time Instagram Stories — delivered directly to Vibia’s social media team via Google Drive throughout each day. Shot, edited and uploaded while the exhibition was still running so the client’s team could post immediately
  • Same-day reel edits — vertical and horizontal formats delivered each morning before the next exhibition day began. Footage from Tuesday evening was edited overnight and in Vibia’s hands by Wednesday morning
  • Meet the Designers sessions — four in-depth sessions with designers Note, Daniel Rybakken, Holscher Design, Umut Yamac and Cecilie Manz. Each session required individual setup, clean audio and a considered approach to lighting within a lit exhibition space
  • The Stories Behind series — a standalone designer interview series produced as a separate content asset from the daily festival coverage. Longer-form, editorial in tone, designed for post-festival use across Vibia’s digital channels

Additional coverage included VIP guided tours and an evening event with guests — all captured in the same documentary-lifestyle style across all four days.

Same-day social content — delivered daily.

Day 1 highlight reel

Meet the Designers — Stories Behind

Real-time Stories coverage

Gessi — One day at Bredgade 67

Venue: Bredgade 67, Copenhagen
Duration: 1 day — June 10

Gessi — the Italian luxury bathroom design brand — needed a production that felt as considered as their product. The brief was documentary and lifestyle in style: capture the atmosphere, the guests and the brand without the production feeling intrusive.

We ran two distinct sessions across the day. A clean morning session captured the exhibition space before guests arrived — product placement, architectural details, the quiet precision of a well-designed space at its best. The afternoon and evening session shifted to live coverage as guests arrived — brand interactions, candid moments, the energy of the opening.

Street-level Copenhagen footage around Bredgade gave the film a sense of place and city context. Archive aerial footage of the city was incorporated into the final edit to anchor the production in Copenhagen specifically.

Deliverables included a curated photo set and a documentary-lifestyle highlights film in 16:9 format — all delivered by June 15.

ITC — United Nations at Strandgate 34

Venue: Strandgate 34, Christianshavn, Copenhagen
Duration: 1 day — June 11

Producing content for a United Nations agency at a design festival is an unusual brief — and exactly the kind of project that requires a different approach from commercial luxury brand work. ITC’s exhibition featured the Indalo collection — a project connecting traditional artisanship with contemporary design, displayed in a waterfront space in Christianshavn.

Coverage centred on the “Meet the Artisan” live event — direct interaction between visiting designers and the artisans behind the Indalo collection. The storytelling required sensitivity: capturing genuine connection rather than staged moments, letting the artisan-visitor dynamic speak for itself.

Three deliverables were produced from one shoot day: an edited photo set, a short-form vertical social video for ITC’s digital channels and a longer horizontal storytelling video that captured the depth of the exhibition narrative.

KOPAN — Architectural photography at Kongensgade 48

Venue: Kongensgade 48, Copenhagen
Duration: 1 day — June 9

KOPAN needed clean architectural photography for their design store ahead of the festival opening — before guests, before the energy of the festival, before anything disrupted the deliberate calm of a well-curated space.

The visual reference was the Aesop Instagram aesthetic — architectural, moody, considered. Every shot was composed for stillness. Exterior and façade wide shots first, then interior atmosphere, then close-up details of the exhibition setup and individual products. The brief required the kind of patience that architectural photography demands — waiting for the right light, adjusting composition until the frame felt inevitable.

Louis Vuitton — Design Days Copenhagen

Duration: 1 day — June 2026
Venue details withheld per NDA.

Roland covered Louis Vuitton’s Design Days activation in Copenhagen personally — documenting the brand’s presence as part of the broader design week programming across the city. Photography and video coverage of the activation was produced to Louis Vuitton’s brand standards.

The same-day delivery workflow

The operational backbone of a week like 3daysofdesign is the same-day delivery workflow. For Vibia specifically, content needed to be in the client’s hands the same day it was shot — and then again the following morning in reel format before the next day’s exhibition opened.

Here is how that worked in practice:

  • Footage from morning and afternoon sessions was offloaded continuously throughout the day to a shared Google Drive folder accessible by Vibia’s social team in real time
  • Instagram Stories were shot, edited and uploaded on-site — no overnight wait, no approval delays
  • Evening footage was cut overnight into the following morning’s reel delivery
  • Vertical and horizontal formats were produced from the same edit — not separate shoots

Five days of this across one week, alongside four other client productions running in parallel across the city, required the kind of pre-production planning that most clients never see. The delivery looks effortless from the outside. It is only effortless because of what was agreed and mapped before the festival started.

5 ALIVE MEDIA at 3daysofdesign Copenhagen 2026 — multi-client event production across Vibia, Gessi, ITC, KOPAN and Louis Vuitton

What 3daysofdesign taught us about multi-client festival production

Running five simultaneous clients across a major design festival is a specific kind of production challenge that is different from a single large event. The lessons it reinforced:

Pre-production is the product. The quality of the deliverables across five clients in four days was directly proportional to how thoroughly the briefs were confirmed and the schedules mapped before day one.

Aesthetic range requires genuine range. KOPAN needed Aesop-adjacent architectural stillness. Vibia needed real-time social energy. Gessi needed documentary intimacy. ITC needed storytelling sensitivity. Louis Vuitton needed luxury brand precision. A production team that can only do one of these well would have struggled with the week. We did all five.

Same-day delivery is a workflow, not a rush. The Vibia same-day content did not happen because we worked faster. It happened because the editing workflow was designed in advance to accommodate real-time delivery. Planning made it possible. Speed was a byproduct.
